Description

The most lively pedestrian street in Plovdiv is the main promenade "Prince Alexander I". It starts from the Central Square and ends at the Trimontium Hotel. The street is designed entirely for pedestrians and is banned even for cyclists. This place is also an open shopping center and an attractive place for meetings and walks. Over the years the main pedestrian street has become one of the symbols of the city.

Walking along the main street, you will feel the city's cheerful city. There are many shops for clothing and accessories, cafes and elite restaurants.

The central street passes along the City Post, Tsar Simeon's Garden, Stefan Stambolov Square, the Town Hall, the Roman Stadium and the Dzhumaya Mosque.

Ivan Vazov Street, which connects the Main Street and the Central Station, is famous for its numerous shoe stores.

Most of the houses on the main streets were built in the early 20th century, their architecture has elements of the Classicism, the Secession and the Postmodernism. One of the emblematic buildings is Molle Hotel, built in 1911, designed by the Italian architect Mariano Pernigoni.
