Description

Local people call the Trap neighborhood because there are small cobbled streets that start and end in places that lead to unexpected sights.

In this small labyrinth in the very center of Plovdiv it is very easy to get lost. However, the place is a familiar place for lovers of forgotten crafts, street art art and quality music. Kapana is the alternative modern destination of Plovdiv.

Open bars, cafes, art galleries and unique craft shops, which can be found only there, create a unique creative atmosphere.

In the 15th century, the Trapani neighborhood was formed around Kurshumhan (the Hall was built in 1930). Kurshumhan was the largest inn in the city, and his name came from the lead slabs that covered the khan (kursuun). And the streets wore and carry the names of the crafts developed on them: Zlatarska (now there are popular restaurants and cafes), Jelezarska, Kozhuharskaya ... In 2013-2014, Trapani was transformed into a creative industry district with the idea of organizing cultural festivals. At one point Trappa was a slightly neglected place where you could hardly get away from cars on the narrow streets.

As part of the ancient Plovdiv quarter "Kapana" also has a long history. In the past there was the craft of the town. It has inherited its name since the 15th century, when it consisted of two shops with "Un Trap" and "Buyuk Trap". Until the beginning of the last century, Trap is the commercial heart of the city, but in 1906 a large fire destroys much of its buildings and facilities.

Each year Capana surprises with new entrances and creative events - concerts, exhibitions, festivals and forums. Undoubtedly, the event that gathers young people from all over the world is "Trap Fest". This year's event features a unique bazaar, stunning art installations, street dances, and bands of independent modern cinema.

One of the most popular events in the trap is the Trap Fest, which has become a tradition. This year the event organizers have prepared a bunch of artistic attractions.

The musical scenes, which will bring young and already established names in Bulgarian music. Stage Staropramen traditionally offers a special selection for fans of rock and alternative music, and the new "Voice of the Kapana" scene is dedicated to Bulgaria's young musical talents.
