In the land of the village of Obidim, about 4 km northwest of the village, about 150–200 meters from its border with the Dobrinishte land, at 1009 m. above sea level is the monastery of "St. Panteleimon". It has existed since 1814 under the name of St. Athanasius of Alexandria. In November 1909, the icon "Worthy is the Mother of God" was sent as a birthday gift to the Rila Monastery from the Athos Monastery Due to bad weather, the monk on whom the icon was sent got confused on the way. After some time, it was understood that the icon had not arrived and all the people living between the Rila and Athos monasteries were warned to look for the monk and the icon. In March of the following year, a shepherd from the village of Obidim, following his sheep, climbed the hill opposite the then forgotten wooden monastery and saw that multi-colored lights were coming out of the monastery. In the evening, returning to the village, he tells the tavern what he saw and the next morning the men, together with the local priest, go to the place. There they find the monk dead in front of the entrance to the wooden monastery with the icon in his hands. The priest takes the icon back to the church, buries the monk and sends a messenger to the Metropolitan of Nevrokop with a message about the found icon. He, in turn, sends a messenger to the Athos Monastery with the news of the miraculous icon. Through the same messenger, they return a message to leave the icon where it was found. The priests from the churches in Obidim and Dobrinishta decide to revive the old monastery and invite the villagers from the region to help with its construction in any way they can. Thus, from 1912 to 1915, the monastery was restored. During these years, the believers began to call the old monastery by the new name of Nova Bogoroditsa. On July 27, the Metropolitan of Nevrokop consecrated the monastery and on the occasion of the feast of St. Pantaleimon it also acquired its third name, making it the only monastery in our country with three names. In 1923, the monastery was set on fire by someone unknown. The icons still show traces of the fire, but the most interesting thing is that the faces of the painted saints are untouched by the fire. In 1956, a 27-year-old nun came to the monastery, who took care of the monastery until 1999. An interesting fact is that Sister Domenica was born on 09.09.1919 and died on 09.09.1999. Since then, the monastery has been taken care of by a priest and a presbyter.
