In 2008, the construction of the church of St. George in the village of Mesta was completed. The frescoes are a total of 34 square meters in area and are the work of two artists - icon painters from Blagoevgrad - Vasko Vassilev and Ivan Valkanov. The dome space and the ceiling of the church are to be painted. The church "St. George" was built with funds from the municipality of Bansko, the Holy Synod and donations from citizens and companies from Bansko and the country.
