The Holy Trinity Church is located in the center of Bansko and is one of the symbols of the resort town. In addition to being one of the most visited landmarks in the city, the church is one of the largest in Bulgaria. Until the construction of the St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Sofia, the Holy Trinity was the largest church in the country and on the Balkan Peninsula. The church complex unites the church, the bell tower and the fence and has been declared an architectural and construction monument. The church is a three-nave basilica and was built in 1835 by local craftsmen on the initiative of the Bansko merchant Lazar German.
