The history of Burgas Zoo begins

20 years ago when a peacock farm was opened in an orchard. Over time, the farm grew and became the largest collection of peacocks in Europe and Asia. Years later, in addition to peacocks, there are now other types of animals. After the zoo was licensed in 2019, exotic species appeared, many of them unique in Bulgaria.

"Our dream was for the zoo to be a pride for the city, as well as a pride for us, who made it," says the owner of the zoo, Krastyo Dubov.

Burgas Zoo is not the typical zoo. The place is eco-friendly, there is no asphalt and concrete, but green areas with rich vegetation. Many of the animals are free range. All the inhabitants are raised in a natural environment, close to their natural one and on territories many times larger than zoo requirements. And the team travels on environmentally friendly and silent electric vehicles that protect the environment and do not disturb the animals.

The zoo shelters free of charge many injured animals, diverted by various foundations that have chosen to trust us as a place with the best conditions for their breeding. Many of them, after care and full recovery, are returned to the wild.
