The 15th edition of the Pumpkin Festival in Sevlievo will take place from 9 to 14 October. Traditionally, Sevlievtsi celebrate the holiday of the city - Petkovden with an autumn fair and a pumpkin holiday. The holiday gathers all week long fans of the orange fruit as well as many others who want to have fun with the super rich program of events.
The festivities will
start on October 9 with the continuation of the National project "I am
Bulgarian!" - an exhibition by photographer Radoslav Parvanov in the
central lobby of Sevlievo Municipality.
The Sevlievo Autumn
Fair will be officially opened on the 10th of 18:30 with a concert "Your
Songs, Bulgario", which will be attended by Yanka Rupkina, Binka Dobreva,
Rayko Kirilov, Yordanka Vardiyska, Slavey Quartet, Vladislav Slavov and others.
It will be held on the Fair stage.
The program continues
on the 11th with a fun studio called Pumpkin, Colorful Fantasies at the Dandol
Houses, which will conclude with an exhibition. It will start at 10:30 am, and
the spectacular show "The Kings of Power" with Kiril Valchev – The
Rock will welcome all guests of the holiday at 3:00 pm at Svoboda Square. This
year, the traveling Street Festival will pass through the city, which will
delight both little and big ones with their magic from 16:00 on Hristo
Spiridonov Street. And the youngest will be able to participate in the
children's fashion show Code Orange, which begins at 5:00 pm on the square.
After it, in the foyer
of the Municipality of Sevlievo, the exhibitions "Pumpkin the most"
and "Pumpkin fantasies" will be opened. The biggest pumpkin will be
awarded again, with the winner leaving 1,000 leva richer. Last year's champion smashed
the competition with his 260 kg pumpkin.
Of course, there can
be no holiday without music. Local favorite MIRY will be the first on stage to
warm up the audience to the awesome Miro. At the end of the musical program on
the 11th there will be a light laser show.
From 7:00 pm, the
doors of the Hadjistoyan School, the City Art Gallery and the Museum of
Contemporary Art will open, where Night at the Museum and Night at the Gallery
will take place. At the same time, however, a concert of the Gumza and
orchestra will begin at the fair stage at 8:30 pm.
The Pumpkin Party with
Ivan and Andrei begins on October 12 at 11:00 am. Then the prizes of the
Pumpkin Fantasy winners will be presented and all visitors will be able to
enjoy the traditional pumpkin pie. Culinary studios with chefs will delight the
guests of the city as the cooking show of Uti Bachvarov - Grinds Baked, with
pumpkin dressed, runs. Local bands and guests will show their skills on the
open stage at Freedom Square, where a live picture of pumpkins will be built at
2.30pm, followed by the Pumpkinvilee show of Ivan and Andrei. At the same time,
the National Nordic Gaitany Fair will be opened in the Dan Kolov Sports Hall.
At 6:00 pm a concert
of local talent will warm up the long-awaited performance of Stefan Valdobrev
and The Usual Suspects. At 8:00 pm, a music laser fireworks show will be held
at Freedom Square, and at 8:30 pm Christian Loizou will give a concert on the festival
stage.
On October 13th, at
10:30 am, all entertainments for small and large begin - a rich entertainment
program will delight those attending the Freedom Square all day long - music,
dances, awards and numerous surprises have been prepared by the organizers. At
6:30 pm, the cult band Signal will sing their eternal hits on the festival
stage.
The doors of the
Pumpkin Museum will be open throughout the holidays, and the Pumpkin Bar,
Bazaar and Pumpkin Cooking Corners will delight guests at the holiday.
On Friday, October 14,
Sevlievo celebrates City Day. At 10:00 a holy liturgy will be held in the
temples, and at 6:30 pm at the Cultural Center the ensemble "Bulgar"
will perform their concert performance "The Eighth Miracle". This
spectacular spectacle will end the holidays of Sevlievo this year.
