Yosif Tsankov and his legacy are a national treasure. In his creative path, Yoji, as his relatives call him, left for generations over 500 musical works - he is the author of the first Bulgarian operettas, waltzes, foxtrots and rumba and deservedly won the title "Patriarch of Bulgarian music". Yosif Tsankov is one of the founders of the national radio in Bulgaria, on his ideas the music and children's radio programs were realized. Chief composer of the Odeon Theater and longtime editor-in-chief of Blackanton, Yosif Tsankov presents us with songs such as "Fairy Tale", "Moonbeams", "My Song, My Love", "Saturday Night", "My Spring", " Sing a Hundred Guitars "," Kiss Me "," My Birds "," Clouds "," Sea of Youth "," Song for Sofia "," Blow the Wind "," Instead of Goodbye "," Your Guitar "," The Caravan ", "I love women passionately" and many others.
Yosif Tsankov's songs have been performed and included in albums by famous foreign artists such as Josephine Baker, Claudio Villa, Arturo Testa, Siegfried Valendi, Yosif Kobzon, Gilbert Beko. During World War II, American and British soldiers fighting Rommel's troops in the Sahara were greeted each morning with Joseph Tsankou's "Caravan," which was broadcast on Radio London, now the BBC.
He won 6 (out of 8) awards in the first competition for pop song in 1964. An award of the Union of Bulgarian Composers was established in his name, which is presented at the Golden Orpheus Festival. In connection with the 90th anniversary of his birth, Tsankov was posthumously awarded the Order of Stara Planina I degree.
Velislav Stoyanov is a trombonist, one of the most active musicians playing and recording on the home stage. Lecturer in zugtrombone at the National Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov", conductor of the brass band and leader of the jazz band at the National Music School "Lyubomir Pipkov".
Mikhail Yosifov is a trumpet player and composer. Teacher of trumpet and conductor of the big band at the National Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov".
The two are founders of the Bulgarian Brass Association, which is behind the projects Big Bang Brass Association, Brass Combo Association, Mihail Yosifov Sextet, BrazzViliDJ, RomaNENO Project, Old School Trombone and others.
Both are winners of the Golden Pen Award for contribution to Bulgarian culture.
