15 years in the wine industry are few if we look from the perspective of French châteaux and their centuries-old traditions. But when you've started from scratch and are writing the new wine history on a white page, 15 years equals almost a century. The path of a young winery passes through many experiments, mistakes, and the search for the best reading of the terroir, but above all, patience and humility.
Bratanov Winery has carefully preserved their most impressive wines from the first 2010 vintage to date and will present their hidden treasures to the wine public for the first time. Wines-experiments, wines-surprises, even wines-mistakes, but most of all wines-history! You will taste over 25 enotec wines.
Bratanov Winery is known as a likeable family enterprise – year after year they manage to delight us with better and better wines. Recently, they surpassed even their wildest dreams after their 2018 3-Blend Red became #1 on the DiVino Top 50 for 2022.
The Bratanov family and their French-trained oenologist Maria Stoeva are known for their fidelity to the expression of terroir and boldness to experiments. Their vineyards in South Sakar have been farmed sustainably since their inception, and as of 2022 are in transition to organic farming. Since 2016 they are the first winery to ferment all their wines with wild yeast, the natural microflora on the grapes. Although they self-identify as a red winery, their white Tamianka attracted attention 10 years ago, and this ancient Balkan variety owes its revival in Bulgaria specifically to Bratanov and their modern interpretation in a dry style.
