The Thracian tomb of Kazanlak is the most famous in the Valley of the Thracian kings. It dates back to the first half of the III century BC. It was discovered by accident in 1944. It consists of three chambers: an antechamber, a corridor and the burial chamber. The bones of a man and a woman were found in the tomb. It was robbed as early as in the Antiquity as only a few findings reached us. The Kazanlak tomb owes its world fame to the remarkable wall-paintings in the corridor and the dome room. In 1974 was made a copy of scale 1:1, and in 1979 was included in the World heritage list of UNESCO.
